Collaborative Project Idea:
Linear Programming
Using a problem (see below), students explore the restrictions of domain and range and linear inequalities to set boundaries on a region of the graph where solutions may lie. This problem is based on a problem from the Washington State Algebra II Indicators & Common Core Algebra Standards.
Technology: Google Hangouts, Google Plus Community (Sammamish Math), Graphing calculator, PowerPoint slideshow, YouTube

Objectives: Students will be able to:
1. Work collaboratively using PowerPoint
2. Explain a real world example of a Linear Programming problem
3 . Write an objective function with restriction equations
4. Use computer software to graph and shade the feasibility region
5. Identify the vertices and evaluate the objective function
6. Explain the solution in a sentence
You will create a small PowerPoint slide show with your partner.
Written Portion: Must be one slide of PowerPoint
For the linear programming project you must write a short paragraph describing the maximization and restrictions. . For the graph, you should generate the graph, the shaded feasibility region and vertices using computer software. You must work collaboratively with your randomly assigned partner to present all information gathered using PowerPoint.

Maximizing Nintendo’s Profit
Nintendo makes both the Wii and the DS systems. They want to maximize the profit made so they must decide how many of each to sell per hour to make the most money. You must describe the restriction equations. You must also describe objective equation. Then write the objective function.
